目前，稳定币正以惊人速度进入主流支付系统，截至2025年5 月末，稳定币的日均成交量较 2024年同期提升约52%。2024年交易额大约是 Visa 和 Mastercard 的 119%和200%。

通俗意义上讲，稳定币是一种锚定真实资产的数字货币，价值通常与某种法定流通货币、商品或其他资产挂钩。
0 l! ?0 d! [$ ?5 m" M, h“锚定真实资产”是稳定币一大特征。我国香港要求，稳定币完全锚定一种或多种法定流通货币（如港元、美元）。美国公司Circle发行的稳定币USDC（USD Coin）是一种与美元1∶1锚定的稳定币，即1美元USDC对应1美元纸币。% W; g/ r- Y$ l& A: X9 d
稳定币维持“稳定”的关键在于“信任共识”。稳定币的持有者相信，自己始终能够从发行人处赎回法定流通货币或抵押资产。为了增强这种信任，大部分稳定币发行人的官网会有一个显示资产透明度的栏目，披露其储备资产的规模与构成、当前稳定币流通情况等。
- a; s7 T3 p0 }, L自2014年首个稳定币（USDT）推出以来，稳定币也经历了一些波折。1 } g0 M1 Q' W, y9 k
稳定币发行方不是央行等官方部门，没有国家信用和存款保险保证，如果很多稳定币持有者向稳定币发行人赎回，会产生挤兑现象。% G. x2 g$ T7 R1 ^ R* n/ B8 `
后来，美国联邦存款保险公司宣布保障所有储户资金，Circle将在硅谷银行的存款转移至其他银行，USDC与美元的兑换比例才逐渐恢复到1∶1。

稳定币和比特币有共性也有区别。共性是两者都是基于区块链技术的加密数字资产，发行机构都不是央行等官方部门。7 Z7 e/ }& r+ e
稳定币重交易，是支付工具。比特币重投资，是投资工具。$ d6 W; X$ o# n2 O1 w
稳定币是支付工具，就要币值稳定，波动幅度小，要保证足够的流通量，而流通量的多少取决于发行方储备资产的数量。+ D) g8 @# p+ o# R: \0 R. _- G
重投资的比特币，价格稳定将降低投资吸引力，波动才能吸引更多投资人。% V& `$ ^8 Y1 l4 [* o, P6 j
更重要的是，两者发展方向不一样。稳定币监管朝着货币合规方向进行，比特币监管朝着虚拟资产管理方向进行。正如潘功胜所言，各国对稳定币的监管政策近期陆续出台。; W. g, x4 N e+ W/ ?4 E
近期，美国通过了立法，对稳定币建立监管框架，我国香港明确将稳定币纳入受监管范围。

; o5 B' U( C" f! j大幅缩短跨境支付链条的稳定币，宣传能“7×24 小时实时到账”“手续费低”，冲击着传统的跨境汇款系统。
1 [4 {. ~1 d2 mSWIFT系统作为全球最广泛使用的跨境支付网络之一，优势是覆盖广、稳定性强以及拥有成熟的生态系统，但其主要以美元为核心结算货币，对于非美元交易而言，可能导致较高的手续费和较长的处理时间。# m: }# v' y$ K0 @; G2 M
欧洲区块链银行Bank Frick几年前宣布，正在使用稳定币替代SWIFT进行跨境转账。据媒体报道，欧洲多家银行将陆续加入稳定币市场，或是推出欧元支持的稳定币，或是与支付机构合作发行稳定币的代币化网络。
6 s( j' a+ p6 U+ t广发证券测算认为，如果稳定币在2030年能够占据5%的贸易结算，则意味着每年有约1.5 万亿美元的贸易通过稳定币完成支付，并且在通胀较高或本币不稳定的国家，商户接受稳定币付款会更加迅速。
