假球，Dubo成为了2007年网坛的关键词，不过正在伦敦参加元老赛总决赛的麦肯罗认为“假球”并不仅仅牵扯到球员个人和Dubo公司那么简单，这位以坏脾气而著称的网坛名宿公开表示“俄罗斯黑手党”可能也牵涉其中，甚至担心他们会用球员家人的安全来威胁球员打假球。

麦肯罗口中所说的“顶尖球员”无疑是世界排名第四的达维登科。“一些排名100-200的球员每年的收入只有50000英镑，如果有人跟你说给你50000英镑，也就是你一整年的收入叫你打一场假球，那么毫无疑问你会有很大的可能性把钱收入袋中。但对于达维登科而言，他的收入起点已经很高了，但如果他冒险打假球，被抓到了很可能被终身禁赛。你很难判定一个球员是否在一场比赛中放水，除非你有他的电话录音或是其他一些记录。”
