·《天降美食》改编自材自夫妻档作家朱迪·巴雷特和朗·巴雷特在1982年出版的同名儿童小说。但是这部续集却并不是改编自这两位小说家写的续集《匹兹堡酱菜》（Pickles to Pittsburgh），而是编剧的原创故事。

·影片中一共出现了39种各种各样的食物。这39种食物没有一样是传统的、能在饭店菜单上找到的东西。它们都是两种或者是数种食物的混合物。0 L- a' F$ C. X
在上一集中，劳伦斯·特劳德给Earl Devereaux这个角色配音。但是到了这一集的拍摄中，他却拒绝再次参与到影片的拍摄中来。所以，在这集影片中，这个人物的配音工作只好由泰瑞·克鲁斯代劳。为了让该人物看起来和上一集没有什么差别，剧组还是找来了劳伦斯·特劳德之前拍摄的电影的资料，把他的表情和动作贴到了人物的身上。
